Dogs that are put in shows are often put on a pause table. In an agility show, they are almost always asked to stop on the table during an obstacle course to prove they can stop on command and sit until ordered to move on. These tables are generally low to the ground so that various sized dogs can easily hop onto it.

Instructions

    1

Cut a piece of plywood to about a 2-by-2-foot area. Measure and mark the cut points, then use a handsaw or handheld circular saw to make the cuts. This will be the top of your table.

    2

Cut a 4-by-4-inch post into 6-inch sections. You will need five pieces. Use a measuring tape to mark the distance of the first 6-inch piece, and cut it out. Use this piece to mark the distance for all the other pieces to ensure that they are the same length. Cut them with a handsaw.

    3

Stand the pieces of 4-by-4 post up so that their 6-inch length is perpendicular to the ground. Slide four pieces under the plywood table so that each one is situated directly under one of the corners of the tabletop; place the fifth piece under the center of the table. If you are unsure of lining up the center one, drill a hole in the center of the 4-by-4 piece and another hole in the center of the plywood table.
