Place a potty puppy pad in each room of the house where the dog will have free run. Do so to start the potty training in case the dog cannot make it to a designated puppy pad far away.

Place the puppy on the potty pad and tell it to go potty. The puppy pads have a smell that attracts the dog to the scent. If the dog doesn't need to go, let it leave the pad, but every 15 minutes, place the dog back on the pad and tell it to go potty. When the dog goes potty, give it plenty of praise.

Pick up the dog and place it on the potty pad if it has an accident somewhere it shouldn't. Don't yell or scold the dog if you didn't catch it doing wrong.
