Train your dog to respond to basic obedience commands such as "sit" before using the Dogtra e-collar. This will help to resolve problem behaviors easier while using the e-collar.
2Charge your Dogtra e-collar for 14 hours before using it. Place the e-collar around the dog's neck, making sure that the stainless steel contact areas presses firmly on your dog's skin. It should fit snugly and positioned high on your dog's neck. Activate the e-collar by turning on the on/off switch, then turn the intensity level dial (the round dial with numbers surrounding it) to the desired setting.
3Put your dog in confinement prior to training with the Dogtra e-collar. Place your dog in his kennel or a crate at least one hour before you begin training. This will encourage him to look forward to his training.
4Train your dog with the Dogtra e-collar regularly. Conduct the training at least five times a week, with 20 minute sessions each time. Repeat the training to help new habits to form quickly. Stick to the rules when training your dog with the Dogtra e-collar. Consistency will help to avoid confusion, as well as encourage training habits.
