While it is always best to train your Pomeranian when it is young to develop good habits, it is possible to train your dog out of existing bad habits.

Instructions

Obedience

    1

Let the dog know you are the leader of the gang. Be assertive in your voice and well-postured in stance. Pomeranians are confident little dogs, but they like to be disciplined.

    2

Take your dog to a dog park to let it socialize with other dogs. Even if your Pomeranian is snappy to other dogs, it will relax as it becomes more accustomed to other dogs. Start as early in your dog's age as you can.

    3

Put your dog in a crate or room if it continues to chew on things it shouldn't. Put items it can chew on in the room.

    4

Hold the leash tight and tell your dog to stop misbehaving while on a leash. Wait for it to calm down and then continue walking. Pomeranians sometimes need reminders about who is boss. Letting it continue to behave badly on the leash will only exacerbate the problem.

    5

Get your dog to stop barking by identifying the cause of the bark. They could be barking to protect their toys and food. They may bark to warn you of a threat, so ensure it that you are fine by talking to it softly. Keep your dog entertained with toys, as it may be barking out of boredom.

    6

Enter the home several times consecutively if you dog barks and urinates when you come home. Ignore it each time. Eventually, it will get bored. Do the same thing the next time you come home, until your dog no longer gets overexcited.

    7

Say "yes" when the dog does something good, and give it a treat. Ignore any other actions. This will make the dog want to please you.

House Training

    8

Find an area that is large enough to train your dog in. Feed the dog and play with it in the training area.

    9

Keep the dog in the training area when you aren't home and make sure it has a comfortable place to sleep.

    10

Take your dog to a toilet area and give it a treat every time it completes the task successfully. This will teach it to wait for you before going to the bathroom.

    11

Let your dog enter other areas of the house after it has become familiar with its defecating grounds.
