When a dog puts a paw over its face, it looks adorable, especially when done on command. This unique trick sets some dogs apart from the pack, because it's different from the standard "shake" or "roll" commands. With a couple of weeks, some treats and some patience, dog owners can easily teach their canines to put a paw over the face.
Instructions

Tell your dog to sit, or physically put it in a sitting position with the rear end on the ground. This position gives the pup easy access to its front paws.
2Gently blow air onto the dog's muzzle. Don't get fancy, just use your mouth and blow. Most dogs take a front paw to cover the nose when they feel direct blown air on the muzzle. Of course, this doesn't work for all dogs. If it doesn't, physically lift a front paw and place it over the dog's face.
3Say "Shy" when the dog's paw touches its face. Then, give your dog a treat and tell it "Good dog." Repeat this process for about five to 10 minutes. Too much repetition frustrates the dog, so keep the training sessions short.
4Give your pup a nice long rubdown or play session after the training session. When the dog knows fun comes after learning, it is more likely to try harder and happily anticipate training.
5Repeat this process every day for a couple of weeks. After two weeks, begin simply saying "Shy" without blowing in the dog's face. Give praise and treats when the dog properly accomplishes the trick.
